Strossner's Bakery Catering Receives 2008 Best of Greenville Award

U.S. Local Business Association’s Award Strossner's Bakery Catering a Plaque Honoring Outstanding Local Achievement

USLBA Award to Strossner's Bakery Catering for Best Bakery and Bread.

WASHINGTON D.C., November 21, 2008 -- Strossner's Bakery Catering has been selected for the 2008 Best of Greenville Award in the Bread/Other Bakery Products category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA).

The USLBA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2008 USLBA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USLBA and data provided by third parties.

Strossner's Oktoberfest Dates Announced

Tickets Go On Sale Aug. 25

Greenville, SC - The annual Oktoberfest held at Strossner's Bakery will take place Saturday, September 27th between 6 and 10 pm at 21 Roper Mountain Road.

Oktoberfest in Germany traditionally starts the third weekend in September and ends the first Sunday in October. Today, the Oktoberfest in Munich is the largest festival in the world, with an international flavor characteristic of the 21st century.

Richard Strossner Sr. was originally from the City of Hof in the Oberfranken District of Bavaria, Germany. Keeping true to the German culture, The Strossner Family hosts an annual Oktoberfest where soft pretzels and beer flow freely and customers can enjoy authentic Schnitzel, Spaetzel and Apple Strudel. A genuine Oompah band entertains the crowd and keeps the dance floor busy.

This year the first annual wiener toss will be introduced.

"For the past 5 years, Oktoberfest has been a way for Greenvillians to come together and enjoy authentic German food, music and culture," says owner, Richard Strossner, Jr. "Everyone from kids to seniors enjoy our Oktoberfest. This year we'll have games for both the adults and kids as well as a VIP beer line!"

Tickets go on sale Monday, August 25th online at www.Strossners.com and in store. Admission is $2 for adults 16 and older. If you want to avoid the entry lines, visit the website for basic admission tickets, family packages and packages with access to the VIP beer line. Package sales end Sept. 17.

The performance will be held at 8 pm at the Grenville Little Theatre, 444 College Street. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by calling 864-233-6238.

Strossner's is offering two tickets to Pandolfi's performance. Purchase a featured Valentine's day flower arrangement by February 9 to be entered into the drawing. Drawing will be held February 9.
